Does anyone know how to make a custom layout...I'm not really happy with the choices :( If anyone knows (b/c I'm too lazy to figure it out on my own, I guess! lol!) let me know!

You can get a generic template and change the colors/fonts/etc to personalize it. I think the one you have looks nice, have not seen that style before.
And, about the certain family members thing, oh how I can relate. Hubby's whole family has yet to even MEET the twins and they live an hour away from us.... did I mention my kids are ALMOST 2? I soooo get where that post is coming from- you are totally not alone!
